StorMagic is a small to medium size company specialising in iSCSI software development. When I first started working on the StorMagic website it only consisted of 5 pages. It has now grown to over 20 pages which are easy to navigate via a JavaScript menu system. A revolving flash ticker can be seen on the home page which is frequently updated to keep visitors in the know and to direct attention their attention to new products. Other works include an online Pay Pal shop, a database driven download area, RSS feed, partner portal, press room and a support area driven by Kayako Supportsuite.
Amelia is a professional makeup and hair artist based in London. She wanted a site to show off her portfolio of pictures from photo shoots she had worked on. The front end of the web site was created in Flash with a simplistic colour scheme so not to draw the viewer's attention away from the main content of images. The images and thumbnails are loaded into the Flash movie using a combination of Action Script and backend XML scripting files which makes it easy to swap and change images in her ever growing portfolio. Amelia recently introduced a video section to the site, with the movie content growing, future developments may include a custom movie library and player.
Storage Virtual Appliance is an educational web site focused at IT professionals in the Data Storage & Virtualization sector. Storage Virtual Appliance has recently launched their new web based discussion forum. Rather than creating the forum from scratch, which would have been quite costly, I suggested the use of free forum software which is widely available on the internet. After looking through many packages I decided to go with SimpleMachines SMF forum software. As the member base grows website traffic will increase with members returning to discuss the in depth topics of Server Virtualisation and Storage Virtual Appliances.
Summerset Villa was designed to showcase a rentable villa based in Orlando Florida. The original site had become dated and I was asked to come up with a new design using the original content. Introducing a new logo and a colourful background was key in emphasizing the villa's sunny location in the US's sunshine state. The villa is perfectly situated for anyone who wants to take advantage of Florida’s amusement parks. To bring attention to this, I used Google Maps API to create a custom Google map with pointers on the villas location and the surrounding amusement parks.
